Science communication microcredential for the University of Saskatchewan

Brendon Bosworth and Dr. Tali Hoffman developed and facilitated the science communication short course, Foundations in Science Communication, for the University of Saskatchewan. The course was the university’s first microcredential and formed part of a pilot programme. Microcredentials focus on skills and competencies to support professional development.  

The training ran from 21 March to 22 April, 2022. Ten students, based in Canada and South Africa, participated in the training.

Work done

  • Designed online science communication course covering the fundamentals of science communication

  • Developed grading rubric to assess learning outcomes

  • Facilitated online learning sessions

  • Graded student assignments and provided feedback
